Some days you just walk...

Today was another long, uphill walk.  A lot of the route parallels the highway, but there are still interesting and beautiful parts to enjoy.  The morning started out overcast, cold and windy, so I was finally able to use both my long sleeve shirt and my fleece. (See, I knew there was a reason for bringing so much stuff!)

Today was the first day that I have listened to anything on my phone.  Due to the slog of the route today I found listening to an audio book to be a wonderful distraction.  I also tried (often in vain) to follow younger pilgrims to push me.  This part of the Camino offers horses to carry you up the hill, but I just couldn’t do that to a horse.  I did stop for a drink along with way and negotiated the purchase of a BMW motorcycle, but decided to wait until next time.

I found this note along the way that suggests a few options for getting to the top of a tree.  Maybe they are similar for getting to the end of the Camino.  Here, as often in life, sometimes you need to just keep walking.  Today was one of those days…

Side note:  Congratulations to my friend Jing-Ping for her accomplishment!  Yesterday she arrived in Santiago!

 You go, girl!!!
